Sawyer Media, Animator (Jan. 2003 - Present) Created animated graphic elements and titles for streaming video and video kiosk presentations for Hyperion and Autodesk. Tic Tac Productions, Designer and Animator (Oct. 2002) Created an intro animation and screen design for Microsoft's "launch event" for MSN 8, in New York's Central Park. The wide-screen imagery served as speaker support for the presentation of Bill Gates and Michael Eisner. Wildbrain, Inc., Director, Writer, and Animator (Feb. 2000 - Nov. 2000) Created and executed twenty-four 2-minute episodes of the original web cartoon Romanov (Official Selection in Internet Animation category, Sundance Film Festival, RESFEST, World Animation Celebration, Yahoo Online Festival, and Pixie Awards; Grand Prize winner for Internet Animation, Ottawa International Animation Festival). Dogtown, Inc., Designer and Animator (1998 - 2002) Website design, screen design, print design and animation for clients including Sun Microsystems, Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Old Navy, Gap. Animated the intro for, and assisted in the design and production of, the Sun Microsystems Interactive Server Tour, a Flash-enabled section of Sun's website, providing visitors a tour of Sun's midframe servers. Designed and executed the Cisco I-Home Presentation, a Flash-enabled section of Cisco's website, that provided visitors a tour of an "internet enabled" home. Production Resources, Inc., Designer and Animator (Aug. 2000) Created an intro animation and screen design for Herring on Hollywood, Red Herring's annual conference to bring together Hollywood and hi tech executives. Quokka Sports Inc., Lead Designer and Animator (Oct. 1998 - Aug. 1999) Was the Lead Designer of Quokka's most visible website at the time they released their IPO: Great Trango Tower. The website followed the progress of three climbers as they made a first ascent of a peak in the Himalayas. Duties included design of information architecture, editorial review of assets sent by climbers to shape the daily story, management of design team, and production of interactive presentations which integrated the climbers' emails, voicemails, and pictures. Provided daily content for the sailing race website Around Alone. Designed and executed over sixty interactive Flash presentations which integrated the sailors' emails, photos, and video, to give viewers a taste of the sailing experience. J. Essays, reviews, and fiction have appeared in the following publications: San Francisco Chronicle Book Review, Salon Magazine, Animation World Network, Release Print, The Comics Journal, Born Magazine, Indy Magazine, and the Cambridge Book Review. Curatorial Work Ottawa International Animation Festival, Ottawa, ONT (projected date: September 2003) "Flashes of Inspiration: independent vision in online cartoons." Will curate a projection of some of the most interesting Flash animations that have appeared on the web. Cartoon Art Museum, San Francisco, CA (Feb. 2002 - April 2002) "Dreamtime/Wartime: The Comics of Aleksandar Zograf." Curated an exhibit of original art by the Serbian cartoonist Aleksandar Zograf. Included a slide lecture by Zograf, and a catalog of the show featuring an interview with the artist. |
